Honduras
Dwayne Chase
My burden is to help
establish New Testament Churches here in Honduras.
During the time that I have been here it has become
apparent that I can best do that by finding and
working with native Honduran men who are saved and
called by God to be Pastors. The pastors with whom I
work are those who are not waiting for someone to
come do the work for them but who are already busy
evangelizing, winning converts and training them in
spiritual matters. With some further training and
encouragement these pastors can do a much better job
dealing with their own people, with the cultural and
language differences and with the bureaucracy that
exists here than I ever could.
As the churches
grow we encourage them to not only duplicate
themselves but to do missionary work here and
eventually in other places.
We also want to do,
as a ministry of these local churches, some
humanitarian work. Feeding kitchens in some very
poor
areas, child sponsorship programs, and
construction of some
small homes for the needy are
examples of things we have done previously and will
continue to do whenever possible.
