NEWS - Honduras

Dear Friends and Colaborers,

Problems with flights coming into Tegucigalpa, because of the recent accident here, have caused some groups that were scheduled for the summer to cancel or reschedule for a later time.

However we have had two groups in recent weeks. Included in the first was a strength team (several former professional athletes who are Christians). They visited several schools, giving their testimony, presenting the Gospel and inviting the students to become Christians. Yes, we are still allowed to do that in the schools here and they had good results in all the different locations. Others from this group went door to door in the communities surrounding our two churches. As always some of the people who were visited responded favorably some did not but we hope that you will pray for them all and for the continued growth of the churches.

We have a new pastor at one of the churches, this will remove a lot of work and responsibility from Pastor Hector. This young man, Menardo, just recently graduated Bible College here and is very enthusiastic, energetic and committed. Remember to pray for him also.

There is an area in which we would like to begin a new church and possibly a feeding kitchen. There is an existing building, owned by the community, and they are receptive to the idea of letting us use it. When the timing is right and funds for repair to the building are in place we want to expand to this area.

Some members of the second group that came helped with some construction and repairs at one facility while others did door to door evangelism and helped with a young peoples camp in The Valley of Angels. We are grateful for all those who came and are encouraged by the results of their dedication and sacrifice.
